FSU Student Union Demo Begins!

In order to support the needs of over 40,000 students, FSU engaged the ALW | Workshop Architects team to design a brand new, world-class student union facility, one that is worthy of the Florida State University name and reputation. We are committed to preserving the rich history and traditions of the Oglesby Union while also supporting the University in looking to the future and improving the functionality of this space on their busy campus. Our collaborative team envisioned and designed a new student union that will support growth and be capable of advancing student engagement and learning outside of the classroom. On Wednesday, June 27, Ajax Construction began the near total demolition of the old student union, starting at the Crenshaw building (pictured below). Ajax expects to have the new union facility completed and opened by Fall of 2020.

Ringling's Glass Pavilion Celebrates Grand Opening

Over 300 people attended the Ringling Museum of Art's ribbon-cutting ceremony in Sarasota, FL today, in celebration of the new Glass Pavilion's grand opening. “The Kotler-Coville Glass Pavilion creates an inspiring space to experience both visual and performing arts. It is not only a gift to FSU, it is a gift to Ringling, a gift to this community, and it will remain free so that anyone can engage with this world-renowned studio of art glass,” FSU President Thrasher said. The 5,000-square-foot addition to Ringling’s campus now serves as the entrance to the museum and box office for the historic Asolo Theater. This project was one of ALW's most inspiring and unique projects to-date; we are thrilled to see celebrate its completion!
